Located in the Estuary of Gironde, 2 Km far from the village of Talmont, the site of Barzan, in the locality of Le Fâ, is one of the most important archeological site in the Poitou-Charentes region.
Thanks to an air photography, archaeologists discovered the remains of a harbour town of more than 100 hectares. Since 1994 they have taken researches on again.
After several months of work, the site is reopened since July 2005 with a new museography and restored external vestiges.
Guided visit of the sanctuary excavating, of the restored thermae (with a guide or not) and of the museum.
