A new town full of light

Facing the sea behind an arena of sand, the new town of Royan is bathed in sunlight. The unpretentious city was designed by a team of architects lead by Corbusier and inspired by the Modern movement and the Athens Charter. The urban architectural style was typical of the construction in the period after the war. An open air museum.
